Treaty of Diplomatic Relations between the Kingdom of England and the Grand Duchy of Brittany

This treaty is to establish a basic Diplomatic Relationship between the above territories. It will, therefore, establish the rights of the Embassy and the Ambassador(s) as well as all Embassy staff within each territory.

Article One – Embassy
The Kingdom of England shall be given an Embassy within the Grand Duchy of Brittany and it shall be given all freedoms that would be available in England.

The Grand Duchy of Brittany shall be given an Embassy within the Kingdom of England and it shall be given all freedoms that would be available in Brittany.

As such, any act of aggression upon an Embassy is, in itself, an act of aggression upon the sovereign territory of the Embassy.

Article Two – Ambassador, Diplomatic Protection and Diplomatic Immunity
The Ambassador(s) of England to the Grand Duchy of Brittany shall have diplomatic immunity from prosecution whilst within the Grand Duchy of Brittany. The Grand Duchy of Brittany shall guarantee the safety of the English Ambassador(s), the right to free passage through the land, and shall endeavour to help the English Ambassador(s) in any situation that it may be required where possible, with or without a request from the English Ambassador(s).

If the English Ambassador(s) should commit a serious crime, then the Duke/Duchess of the Grand Duchy of Brittany can remove diplomatic immunity from the English Ambassador(s) in order to prosecute the English Ambassador(s).

The Grand Duchy of Brittany maintains the right to refuse a diplomatic envoy from the Kingdom of England and to request a replacement for any reason.

The Ambassador(s) of Brittany to the Kingdom of England shall have diplomatic immunity from prosecution whilst within the Kingdom of England. The Kingdom of England shall guarantee the safety of the Ambassador of Brittany, the right to free passage through the land, and shall endeavour to help the Ambassador(s) of Brittany in any situation that it may be required where possible with or without a request from the Ambassador(s) of Brittany.

If the Ambassador(s) of Brittany should commit a serious crime, then the Monarch of England (or the Regent of England if there is no sitting Monarch) can remove diplomatic immunity from the Ambassador(s) of Brittany in order to prosecute the Ambassador(s) of Brittany.

The Kingdom of England maintains the right to refuse a diplomatic envoy from the Grand Duchy of Brittany and to request a replacement for any reason.

Article Three – Recall and Expulsion
In the case of necessity or emergency, the Monarch of England (or the Regent of England if there is no sitting Monarch) may recall the English Ambassador(s) and the English Diplomatic Delegation from the Grand Duchy of Brittany to England.

Also, the Monarch of England (or the Regent of England if there is no sitting Monarch) has the right, during an emergency or because of necessity, to expel the Ambassador of Brittany and the Diplomatic Delegation of Brittany from the Kingdom of England with a warning time of not less than two weeks to remove themselves from England.

In the case of necessity or emergency, the Duke/Duchess of the Grand Duchy of Brittany may recall the Ambassador of Brittany and the Diplomatic Delegation of Brittany from the Kingdom of England to Brittany.

Also, the Duke/Duchess of the Grand Duchy of Brittany has the right, during an emergency or because of necessity, to expel the English Ambassador and the Diplomatic Delegation of the Kingdom of England from the Grand Duchy of Brittany with a warning time of not less than two weeks to remove themselves from Brittany.

Article Four – Cancellation of the Treaty of Diplomatic Relations
Should either the Kingdom of England or the Grand Duchy of Brittany wish to cancel this treaty, it is necessary for the requesting party to write an Official Declaration in accordance with their laws, and to send a copy to the relevant territory’s officials. The treaty will be considered annulled after two weeks in accordance with the expulsion time of the Ambassador(s) and the Diplomatic Delegation.

Article Five – Translation
This Treaty of Diplomatic Relations is written in English and is to be translated into the relevant language spoken by the Grand Duchy of Brittany. Both versions will be considered valid and correct, however the English version shall always be considered legal and usable in the English Courts of Law.

Traité de Relations Diplomatiques entre le Royaume d'Angleterre et le Grand-Duché de Bretagne

Ce traité à pour but d'établir les relations diplomatiques entre les territoires susmentionnés. Il vise dès lors à établir les droits des Ambassades et des Ambassadeurs, ainsi que du corps diplomatique, au sein des territoires dans lesquels ils exercent leur fonction.


Article Premier – L'Ambassade
Le Royaume d'Angleterre bâtira une Ambassade en Bretagne qui sera considérée comme faisant partie intégrante du territoire Anglais et seul le Royaume d'Angleterre pourra y exercer sa souveraineté.

Le Grand-Duché de Bretagne bâtira une Ambassade en Angleterre qui sera considérée comme faisant partie intégrante du territoire Breton et seul le Grand-Duché de Bretagne pourra y exercer sa souveraineté.

A ce titre, toute agression envers une Ambassade est, en soi, une agression contre l'entité territoriale qu'elle représente.


Article Deuxième – Protection et Immunité Diplomatique
L'Ambassadeur d'Angleterre en Bretagne jouira de l'immunité diplomatique. Aucune poursuite judiciaire ne pourra donc être menée par le Grand-Duché de Bretagne contre l'Ambassadeur. Le Grand-Duché de Bretagne se portera guarant de la sécurité de l'Ambassadeur Anglais ; autorisera la libre circulation de celui-ci sur tout son territoire ; et s'engage, dans la mesure du possible, à lui porter assistance en cas de besoin, que l'Ambassadeur en fasse la demande ou non.

En cas de faute grave commise par l'Ambassadeur d'Angleterre, l'immunité diplomatique pourra être levée par [l'autorité suprème de Bretagne] afin de le/la poursuivre en justice.

Le Grand-Duché de Bretagne se réserve le droit de refuser un diplomate du le Royaume d’Angleterre et de demander un remplaçant pour quelque raison que ce soit.

L'Ambassadeur du Grand-Duché de Bretagne en Angleterre jouira de l'immunité diplomatique. Aucune poursuite judiciaire ne pourra donc être menée par le Royaume d'Angleterre contre l'Ambassadeur. Article Troisième – Rappel et Expulsion
En cas de besoin ou d'urgence, le Monarque d'Angleterre (ou le Régent) pourra rappeler l'Ambassadeur Anglais et la délégation diplomatique.

De même, en cas de besoin ou d'urgence, le Monarque d'Angleterre (ou le Régent) aura le droit d'expulser l'Ambassadeur de Bretagne du Royaume d'Angleterre. Dans ce cas, toute la délégation diplomatique devra quitter l'Angleterre dans un délais de minimum deux semaines.

En cas de besoin ou d'urgence, le [chef d'état du Bretagne] pourra rappeler l'Ambassadeur de Bretagne et la délégation diplomatique.

De même, en cas de besoin ou d'urgence, le [chef d'état du Bretagne] aura le droit d'expulser l'Ambassadeur d'Angleterre du Grand-Duché de Bretagne. Dans ce cas, toute la délégation diplomatique devra quitter le Bretagne dans un délais de minimum deux semaines.


Article Quatrième – Annulation du Traité de Relations Diplomatiques
Pour annuler ce traité, il est nécessaire que la partie demanderesse écrive une Déclaration Officielle suivant ses lois, et en envoie une copie aux autorités du territoire en question. Le traité sera considéré comme nul après deux semaines, soit le délais accordé à l'Ambasadeur et à la délégation diplomatique pour quitter le territoire.

Article cinquième – Traduction
Ce traité de Relations Diplomatiques est écrit en anglais et doit être traduit dans la langue officielle de Bretagne. Les deux versions seront considérées comme étant valides et correctes, cependant seule la version anglaise aura force légale et sera utilisée par les tribunaux.
